Ten years ago it was Sociology, Pedagogy, Journalism and of course Management and Marketing Studies. Today more popular are Cosmetology, Tourism and Recreation or Accountancy. Many of the future students chose this kind of studies not because they were interested in it, but because lots of their pals made a analogical decision. The first year is deciding.

After final exams student should know what kind of object of interest is good for him and what he will do during the following four or five years at the university. This is the best time to look around, change the course and make the decision one more time. Apart from field of study the most important are people’s interests and passions. Student may do many things at this field. Let’s take for example Management and Marketing Studies. That kind of knowledge should allow young adept of this discipline understand contemporary management techniques and methods of marketing, assist to become a reliable open-minded manager who knows how to develop and maintain long-time relations with clients. Student should not only know the difference between multi-level marketing and word-of-mouth marketing (WOM marketing), but also try to make use of it in his life. He can make some social tests, try to sell something using social network, take a part in marketing buzz and control information about product, look at people’s reactions, take notes and the most important – enjoy.

The other field of interest – Journalism. According to definition Journalism is “collecting, transformation, and transmission of news and information related to the news to an audience”, so it’s a field of study where being lettered is a big asset. Young journalists should like reading all kind of books and understand how to split and pick out information. They must like speaking with other people and carefully listen what they want to declare. During the studies journalists can be an active adherents of some group or foundation, try to take interviews from entertaining (but not necessary prominent people), search a moving themes, try to analyse obtained information, take practice in some local newspaper and actively learn future job. Finding a right and rewarding job is an essential target of all studies.

Young people can find function in any area, but they have to have interest in what they want to do (and sometimes by very patient). If somebody has finished accomplished Ethnology and he admires old folk customs and has knowledge about herbs – that’s super, he can crate a book, have a business or teach people how to search curative herbs – all he needs it is a fine idea thought. He must find out how to use and build up his skills. A passion and an dream that is all what students need to have.
